Andrei V Smirnov has an M.S. degree with honours in Physics from Lomonosov University in Moscow, Russia with a focus on Quantum Mechanics, and a Ph.D. in Technical Sciences from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. From 1998 till 2008 he worked as an Assistant Professor at West Virginia University where he conducted research on multi-physics modeling and published over 80 technical papers. Worked as an Advisory Engineer at Babcock & Wilcox Company on the development of a small nuclear reactor and later at Bechtel Corporation on modeling of nuclear reactor accidents and radioactive waste treatment facilities. He also worked as a Senior Product Development Engineer at FuelCell Energy on modeling and analysis of industrial facilities. Currently, he works as a Senior Data Scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton. Owner of MulPhys and co-founder of Group One Energy startup. Holds an active Professional Engineering license, Linux Sysadmin license, Linux+ certificate, (E-Badge), and Cybersecurity Analyst (E-Badge).
