Ring Demo

This is a simplified example of a Ring application, demonstrating some elements of voxel graphics. This web-based demo version uses only wireframe mode for surface representations and does not take advantage of Java3D graphical capabilities, which include a high quality 3D representations with textures, surface lighting, etc. These features are incorporated into the workstation version.

System Requirements

The web version of the application can be launched via the Internet using Java^TM Web Start.

If Java Web Start is not installed on your machine, please click the link below to download Java Web Start.

For users of Netscape 6 and higher or Mozilla 1.x web browsers, manual configuration is also required. Please set up the Java Web Start MIME type JNLP in the Edit->Preferences->Navigator-> Helper Applications section.
To do this:

• Open the Edit->Preferences->Navigator->Helper Applications menu
• Click on New Type... button and fill the fields:

  File extension:	jnlp
  Mime type:	application/x-java-jnlp-file
  Application to use:	JAVAWEBSTART_HOME/javaws/javaws

Launching the Application

• Download all files of an example project from here. It is recommended that you download files into an empty directory.
• To launch the application from your browser just click this link.
• Accept signatures when prompted.
• Open the project by selecting Project->Open from the menu and clicking at the project.config file from the directory with the example files you just downloaded.
