Conclusions and future work

4 Conclusions and future work

An implicit particle interaction scheme based on virtual particle-grid interactions is proposed. It allows to speedup particle tracking computations when particle interaction mechanisms are important.

The feasibility of the approach in conjunction with the Lagrangian particle tracking and a fluid-particle interaction schemes was demonstrated on the cases of particle-particle, fluid-particle and fluid-particle-particle interactions.

Experimental validation and the comparison with the standard approached still need to be addressed.

The issues of grid-sensitivity and the extensions of the technique to long-range interactions will need to be investigated in the future work.
